PROBATE
Over the years, Attorney Briska has done not only estate planning for clients (Wills, Trusts, Power of Attorney), but also more specialized documents as Family Limited Partnerships, Life Insurance Trusts, Transfer on Death Deeds, and Non-Judicial Settlement Agreements.
When a family member passes away, Attorney Briska will provide both Probate and Trust Administration services.
BUSINESS
Attorney Briska has helped people purchase and sell businesses, big and small, over the last 34 years. This includes transitioning family businesses to adult children or to key employees.
In addition, he has helped organize Corporations, Partnerships, Limited Liability Companies, and joint ventures for general business operations or a specific limited project. This business practice area includes drafting Settlement Agreements, Construction Agreements, Shareholder Buy/Sell Agreements, Asset Sale Agreements and Equipment Purchase Installation Contracts, Employment Agreements, including Deferred Compensation Agreements.
FINANCE
Attorney Briska is grateful for his experience at the O'Meara Law Firm and the ability to work with his former partners and tremendous clients of the office. Attorney Briska learned more from clients than they learned from him. For closely-held, family businesses and joint venture projects, Attorney Briska organized deals with seller financing: Promissory Notes, secured by mortgages, general business security agreements, personal guaranties, corporate guaranties, and specialized collateral pledge agreements.
Attorney Briska has represented businesses in raising capital and negotiating traditional commercial bank financing agreements, large and small. What has helped in this area has been Attorney Briska's representation of various commercial lenders over the years. As part of finance practice, he has successfully helped many businesses write business proposals, loan proposals and RFP's (Requests for Proposals), bids, RFQ (Requests for Quotes).
REAL ESTATE
After 34 years of practice, Attorney Briska has been involved in many types of real estate transactions ranging from the sale of a primary residence, the establishment of primary residency in another state, the sale of lake property, the sale of environmentally contaminated property, including obtaining Closure Letters from the Wisconsin DNR, tax deferred like-kind changes on the commercial side.
Attorney Briska has gained experience with condemnation projects, commercial condominiums, TIF districts, business parks, conservation easements, Option and Right of Refusal Agreements, all types of leases, and petition for variances and special use.
