I post therefore I am. I am posting because many guys (my age) are pulling the pin, and retiring “Sayonara” (I have a Japanese brother-in-law so there is no bigotry over use of that word). I attended his American Citizenship swearing in. He drives a Ford pickup, camps and listens to country music; and he knows the Constitution better than 99% of most Americans. I rest my case your Honor. Lou Man. “Back in black”. Bomp…! I have pushed my chips in. I am working as long as I can. (Do not want to outrun my kick coverage). I also have one son who will go to medical school.. so I will continue working for the Jesuits (tuition) another 7 years, at least. I had a dream, not like Martin Luther King Jr., but I dreamt my wife was buying cat food – we don’t own a cat. -SHUDDER-
Why Post: (A) Brand recognition; and (B) notification that I will be here, and not retiring.
Second Subliminal Reason: A young “LinkedIn” lady, Caitlin Olsen made my heart glad with her post: “The most courageous act is still to think for yourself, aloud.” Imagine Lou man at an Opera now standing, clapping, shouting, “BRAVO”, for her.
Political Locker room talk: Guilty. The venom of today’s glass ceiling locker room has found a new victim, Government. I will try harder. Example: “They are just doing it to make money.” “They are just doing it to control us.” The employee guy at the hardware store, yesterday, was talking to his “armchair” contractor buddy on the Infrastructure Bill. Woweezowee, Batman! **?&?x?
Education: Much of Chicago’s sewer system was built in the 1850’s and 1930’s. It is completely inadequate to move storm water from Chicago streets (filled with cars) to Chicago’s deep tunnel. The Chicago Metropolitan Sewer District could sure use this infrastructure money to install bigger sewer pipes. Chicago is getting Infrastructure money for a very good purpose everyone should agree on. I promise to try harder. I have burdened my mind with this proposition – Hamiltonian speak. Also, if I slip up, I promise to eat my hat, red feather and all. (Davy Crockett)
